Opalite is a highly valued stone in lithotherapy, although it is important to note that the Opalite most commonly found on the market (milky white to opalescent blue, with iridescent reflections) is a man-made opalescent glass (or "opaline glass").
Even though it is synthetic, it has recognized virtues in lithotherapy, particularly for its soothing properties and emotional support.
Associated Chakras
Opalite is primarily associated with the upper chakras:
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): for communication.
Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): for intuition and clarity.
Crown Chakra (Sahasrāra): for spiritual connection.
1. Emotional and Mental Level
Soothing and Serenity: Its main virtue is to bring a feeling of deep peace and tranquility. It helps calm anxieties, stress, and aggression.
Acceptance of Change: It is considered a transition stone that helps to accept and accompany change in life, including shifts in relationships (friendly or romantic).
Self-Esteem: It strengthens self-esteem and personal confidence.
Sleep: It is known to promote restorative sleep, facilitate falling asleep, and reduce nightmares.
2. Communication
Honest Expression: Opalite helps to express deep feelings and thoughts with honesty and courage.
Fluidity: It is recommended for people who have difficulty communicating, as it helps to find the strength and words to say what is on their heart.
3. Spirituality
Meditation: It is an excellent stone for meditation, as it promotes a state of mental calm and opens to spiritual connection.
Intuition: It stimulates intuition and clarity of mind.
Optimism: It is associated with positive energy and childlike wonder, helping to chase away negativity and see life with optimism.
Warning: Opalite is mostly synthetic glass, although natural opals (Green Opal or Common Opal) may sometimes be sold under this name. In lithotherapy, its virtues are based on its resonance and opalescent beauty. The properties of stones are traditional and never replace medical advice or treatment.
